Top 5 Airbnb Experiences in 2018

Top 5 Airbnb Experiences in 2018

Experiences. If you’ve followed my travels for any amount of time, it is no secret that I am a lover of two things; Airbnb & travel experiences. I once met a woman who told me her favorite part of travel was never leaving her hotel. Sure, sometimes this can be a much-needed break but I find going out and living, experiencing life when you travel is the good stuff.

While traditional hotels are a nice break, there’s nothing I enjoy more when I travel then living like a local. Earlier this month Airbnb released their 2018 travel trends for all to see and they’re projecting 2018 to be their best year yet.

What some may not realize is that Airbnb is not only in the game of giving you a place to stay; their experiences section is on par with some of the best. So sit back, relax, and plan your next travel experience (a trip isn’t a trip without them). Here are the top 5 experiences to have while traveling, according to Airbnb.

1. Lisbon’s Best Flavors, Lisbon

Pack your camera, walking shoes, and appetite for this one. Ruthy (your host) has fallen head over heels in love with Lisbon. She will guide through the ultimate walking and eating tour of some of the best that Lisbon has to offer. If experiencing whole in the wall places, meeting new people, and truly embracing a culture through their food is something you yearn for then this is for you. Book your spot » here

2. Secret Concert in a Treehouse, London

5 minutes away from the Shoreditch High Street tube station sits one of London’s best-kept secrets. A unique loft space in the heart of Shoreditch that gets wholly transformed; cushions, fairy lights, swings, and a Steinway Concert Grand Piano.  Your hosts (Ross and Sofia) have gone above and beyond to put a new spin on how we listen to classical music. 3. Raise a Glass to Prohibition, New York City

Your host, Rory, takes you on a 1.5-mile walk down memory (and history) lane. Your first stop takes you to one of New York’s last standing 1920’s speakeasies; followed by a look at women in the Gilded Age; ending with a stop at one of New York’s oldest bars. Alcoholic and non-alcoholic drink items are available. Book your spot » here.

4. Brixton Hidden Jazz Club, London

Experience live jazz in the intimate setting of a reclaimed shipping container in Brixton. Your host, Theo, will always be there but rest assured; no two nights will be the same! Pop-in guests predominate in London’s up, and coming jazz scene perform frequently. I’ve been to a lot of jazz bars in my time, but none will offer you this experience. Book your spot » here.

Your hosts, Thomas and Jessie, walk you through Griffith Park and Hollywood Lane Estate, getting you as close to the iconic sign as possible. Views of the Griffith Observatory, Studio City, Historic Homes, Lake Hollywood, Wisdom Tree, Forrest Lawn, and much more will be visible to you from this point.
